When Charli told us she wanted branding that would include watercolor elements and a peacock theme, we knew immediately that this would be a super fun project! It allowed us to really get creative and incorporate some custom illustration work. For the peacock, we decided to take a more abstract approach to its style, and I’m thrilled with how we were able to integrate it’s feather details with the swashes that make up Charli’s script logo. It all ties together beautifully…even the subtle blue-green gradient of the lettering and their ode to a peacock’s iridescent-like coloring.
Once the logo was complete, we then moved onto incorporating Charli’s new look into a custom ProPhoto blog+site web design. It features other complimentary watercolor illustrations, a clean layout, and subtle textures for a natural, organic feel. Check it out at http://charliphotography.co.uk/.
Interview with Charli
Please tell us a little about yourself and your business. I am a fine art photographer based in Kent and London, UK. I am really passionate about capturing people’s stories through the camera and providing these as memories to last forever. I love the rawness and emotion of just capturing life as it happens – there is real beauty in allowing truth into photography without intervention.
What do you think of your new design? I don’t know where to start. It’s simply beautiful. The watercolour drawings I particularly am in love with. I wanted something elegant but with character and a dose of my personality and Tiffany has produced more than I could ever have imagined! I now have an integrated website and blog which will make things so much easier for both myself and my clients. So many of my family and friends have said how stunning the website is and how it really represents me. I can’t stop looking at it!
Please describe your experience working with Tiffany. I spent so long researching what I wanted and I am a perfectionist so Tiffany ended up with a very long Project Questionnaire and additional notes. Tiffany took this in her stride and I could tell that she had spent time reading through what I wanted and she was great in saying if things maybe wouldn’t work so well or making suggestions for additional ideas that I hadn’t even thought of. I am a photographer and certainly not a web designer so it was refreshing to work with someone so talented – it completely lifted a pressure which I had fought for years in trying to make my website ‘stand out’ and be ‘unique’. It’s like Tiffany waved a wand and now everything I had pictured is a reality. Amazing. I couldn’t recommend Tiffany more.
What are your future plans for Charli Photography? Charli Photography is continuing to grow as an exclusive brand and the plan is to capture more destination weddings. I feel that my brand in the UK has grown from strength to strength and the focus is now to develop this into Europe and then further afield. Apart from that I want to continue to have fun, enjoy meeting people and telling their stories and feeling blessed that I am privileged enough to do something that I love and that I smile about every single day.
