Meet our Intern, Sasha!

Sasha is our intern this summer, and she will be helping out with our social media posts and blog updates, as well as assisting with some photo sessions. We wanted you to get to know her too, so we’re doing a fun little Q&A today!

Where do you go to school?
I will be a junior this fall at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. I’m studying Marketing with an emphasis in Management, and I have a minor in Environmental Studies. GBR!!

What brought you to Missouri for the summer?
My parents decided to move to the Cape Fair/Reeds Spring area, so I get to tag along for the summer. I love all of the trees and hills in Missouri. I’m originally from Omaha, Nebraska so the warmer weather and change in landscape is quite appreciated.

What are some of your hobbies?
Painting on canvas, learning new ways to do my makeup from tutorial videos, watching a select few YouTuber’s videos, reading Jodi Picoult novels, running (I’m going to run a half-marathon this year!), and most importantly – snuggling with my two kitties.

Do you have a favorite family tradition?
Cookie dough at every family Christmas. I live for that tupperware full of layers of homemade cookie dough balls.

What is a funny or odd nickname you have?
I’ve had a lot of odd nicknames. My family (mostly my brother) calls me “Pyder”, because when I was really little I couldn’t say “spider” when singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider. My high-school best friend called me “Squeesh”, and when I was younger my cousin would call my brother “Chips” and would call me “Salsa”. That nickname caught on at school, and some of my friends started calling me that…needless to say, it wasn’t my favorite experience. I’ve had so many people make up so many nicknames for me throughout the years though, I could go all day.

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
CAUTION: Clumsy. Trips often, easily distracted. Beware of frequent laughter.

What’s your all time, best-ever Halloween costume?
I think it was either 5th or 6th grade I was a rockstar diva. I had these black gaucho-looking pants that I bedazzled, and then a sparkly pink and black top, and I used an X-Box headpiece set for my microphone. I remember my mom doing my hair in high pigtails and I put on some really obnoxious (but fabulous, at the time) eyeshadow with a whole lot of lipstick. I’m still proud of this costume.

Do you cook? What’s your favorite recipe?
I don’t really cook, but I love baking! I actually participated in a little cookie baking competition with a friend last year…no, we didn’t win, but I did find a new DELICIOUS cranberry-white chocolate chip recipe!

What is something that excites you so much it keeps you awake the night before?
I’d say either the anticipation of waking up super early to go to the airport for a vacation somewhere tropical, or the excitement of
finding out who’s in my classes during the first day/week of school.

Are you an ocean, mountains, or woods kind of gal?
Can I be an ocean, mountain, cornfield, AND woods kind of gal?

We hope you enjoyed these questions and getting to know Sasha better!
